I love music. It speaks for me when I can’t find the words. That is why I started this blog, to share my passion. I hope that you take the time to start at the beginning to see all the great music that has been discussed. I am not a writer, never claimed to be, but I will do the best that I can to articulate how I feel about the song or band, and why it has been chosen. I have received such positive feed back from my followers, the bands and my friends, and I am so proud of how far it has come. When I am not blogging, I am thinking about what to blog. I pour my soul into it. So please, take the time to check it out! Also, feel free to follow me on Twitter @bamkapow, so that I can get to know you better. Cheers! -J

Helena Beat by Foster the People

For my girl A! It’s a “Helena Beat” kind of day baby! xo

“Sometimes life it takes you by the hair
It pulls you down before you know it
It’s gone and you’re dead again.
I’ve been in places and I won’t pretend
That I’d make it out just to fall on my head

Wake up strange and take the walk downstairs
Hit the pawn up on the corner and pay for my rent
You know that I could not believe my own truth
Just show them what I choose, got nothing to lose

Yeah yeah and it’s O.K.
I tie my hands up to a chair so I don’t fall that way.
Yeah yeah and I’m alright.
I took a sip of something poisoned but I’ll hold on tight.

You know those days when you want to just choose
To not get out of bed, you’re lost in your head again.
You play the game but you kind of cut
’Cause you’re coming down hard and your joints are all stuck.
I tried to say that’s not the only way
I never knew if I could face myself to change.
You were pacing I was insecure.
Slip and fall, I got the calls from the prison I’ve been living in.

Yeah yeah and it’s O.K.
I tie my hands up to a chair so I don’t fall that way.
Yeah yeah and I’m alright.
I took a sip of something poisoned but I’ll hold on tight…..”

Warrior by Mark Foster + A-Trak + Kimbra

The Foster the People show far exceeded my expectations. The light show/set, drum solos and the trumpet quartet were beyond words! The energy was exploding from the crowd. If I wasn’t singing at the top of my lungs, my mouth was agape in total amazement! I wanted it to last for hours! Kimbra opened for them, but also came out and sang this song “Warrior” with Mark. They had great chemistry on stage, very entertaining. Kimbra’s voice is even more beautiful live! By far one of the best shows I’ve ever been to! -J

Broken Jaw by Foster The People

For my A! Foster tomorrow baby! -J

“Don’t want to talk about it
What do you see when you dream about it?
I had been broke down from my enemies
I’m drifting farther from my memories…”
